Bunk Room Ideas

What is a bunkroom? It's a room providing usually temporary sleeping quarters. Maybe a summer home, grandma's house, basements, attics, etc...  Where to put everyone? The bunk room can be a perfect solution. These bunk rooms have the dormitory feel with the ability to sleep lots of people. Bunk rooms allow for less wasted space - it's about function. Great nautical feel for the bunk room. Nautical bedding.

Whimsical Cowboy Room

This cowboy room was illustrated and designed by childrens room designer LouLou of LouLous Whimsicals.  The custom cowboy bed was designed and built with real wagon wheels! The handpainted border includes the old west icons repeated around the room. LouLou exlains, "I had a lot of fun painting the border, murals and canvas paintings for this room. Below the border I faux finished in reds to give a leather effect. The black valances were store bought I customized with a black and white cow fabric border. The bandana flannel fabric was also store bought then sewn to make the blanket.  The furniture I bought un-painted then illustrated specifically for this room. The closet was painted to represent a gray barn for the happy horse and rooster. I love creating childrens rooms!"

Lou Lou's Whimsicals has adorable kids rooms. Check out their website for more photos.

Decorating Kids Rooms With Maps!

Kimba from A Soft Place To Land adorned her sons room with this wall map. Such a classic look with classic colors! Kimba describes her sons room, "He is into geography right now and when I saw this earth-toned map at National Geographic, I knew it would be perfect for his bedroom. We're both thrilled with the result. He loves identifying where all of our friends and family live and I love that it's fun and stylish for a kid's bedroom without being a cartoon character that he won't like in a year."

Kimba also shows how to frame the map with a step-by-step tutorial.
